The Evolution EVOSAW230 Power is a high-grade and speedy circular saw. It can cut a variety of materials including stainless steel, aluminum, and most especially wood. You can compare this to any other circular saw side-by-side, there’ll be a striking difference in performance that favors this one.
For starters, it is a 9-inch steel-cutting circular saw. This is, on its own, a huge upgrade from the former 5-1/2 to 7-1/4 inch blades. The 9-inch sharp and dynamic blade is built for and can tackle some seriously heavy-duty tasks.
It can tackle professional jobs and slightly less intense ones. The 15-amp motor is powerful enough to slice through metal without overheating or kickback. This is also with a no-loading 2,700 RPM motor.
It can do simple crosscuts and large rip cuts easily. You can also use it for metal alone. It’s like cutting through wood but the 2,700 RPM speed makes it slightly slower which is not a bad thing at all. Especially when you consider how easy and smooth it is to handle.
The cutting blade is laser-guided which improves accuracy and productivity during use. After cutting, the laser guide will assist you in seamlessly presenting a scratch and line-free finish. Leaving the surface clean with no ragged lines and a visibly clear plane.
The 48-teeth steel TCT blade is a unique and striking feature. It produces zero heat, no kickback, and no burr during use. The blade is sharp and cuts well through metal in the same way it does wood.
And because the blade has a thin profile, it consists of a higher number of teeth. This is definitely an upgrade from the average 30 to 32 teeth carbide-tipped blades most people are used to.
The laser guide assists you in cutting straight while the blade is strong enough to stabilize itself on different plants.
I’ve found that even though the motor is fast and works seamlessly, going slower improves my cutting precision. So go slow on the cutting line and you’ll see how perfectly it works.
The blade is also supported by the pressed metal steel base. It’s heavy-duty and sturdy. And so it’s compatible with cutting metal plates, box sections, cladding, roofs, and scaffoldings.
The bevel tilt is from 0 to 45-degrees with a depth of the cut feature. So you can choose your cut and angle seamlessly.
The Evolution EVOSAW230 also includes an automatic debris collection system. What this does is it collects wood chippings and other metal scraps automatically. So you don’t have a mess to clean up afterward.
It might not catch every last chipping but it does a great job of keeping things clean. While cutting metal, the fast performance of the blade and its thinness does sling some shards. So it’s best if you wear eye, ear, and hand protection while using it.
It comes with a handy storage case so you don’t have to purchase anything separately. There’s even a safety switch to protect against overloading. Since it cuts through metal and aluminum, the safety switch is a handy feature.
You can also turn off/on the laser guide for more accurate cuts. Since the laser guide makes visibility sharp and clear, I’d advise you to keep it on for all your projects.
Overall, this is a convenient and powerful tool. With adjustable features like the horizontal guided handle, laser guide, and carrying case, the EVOSAW230 streamlines the entire experience. Making it a user-friendly, versatile, and durable choice for most people.
