Combo Kit / Versatility
In a combo kit like the Black and Decker BDCD220CS, there is a drill/driver plus a cordless circular saw. The drill features a heavy-duty 310-lbs torque capacity. The cordless circular saw meets those same expectations with a lithium-ion battery and a high-torque motor.
Both the power tools in the kit are well worth the price. The price range of the combo kit is affordable and only a fraction of what the high-end combo kit costs. But the superiority of its performance and durability is much the same.
On top of everything, the saw has exceptional parts including stabilizing ergonomics. This includes LED work light, positional clutch, intricate bevel adjustment, and lots more.
Its biggest advantage is its smooth and consistent mobility. The Black and Decker BDCD220CS combo kit is handy and compact to take anywhere. The frontrunner being a cordless power tool, it’s a practical tool that offers plenty of flexibility and ease of movement. The LED light promises clear and bright low-light conditions.
Blade Quality / Precision & Ease of Use
The blade on the saw is compact, lightweight, and sturdy. It’s quite durable too with its 5-1/2-inch 18T carbide blade. This cuts finer and smoother than anything I’ve seen within this price range. A beginner will find it quite simple and straightforward to work by eyesight alone. And not depend on any other tool to get precision right.
Another more important thing about the blade is the bevel and cutting depth. It’s impressively effective and accurate to configure. And the blade’s cutting speed and accuracy make it better to handle for really demanding jobs.
There are marked guides on the blade to avoid any blunders. This allows you to adjust the cutting depth easily and quickly. And because the power tool is compact and portable, I can do so with one hand without any problems.
The mechanisms of changing the blade are quite seamless too. I can use another blade for toothier jobs. And it’s so easy to switch, it hardly takes even 5 minutes!
The blade included in the combo kit cuts up to 2inches thick materials in a single pass. Definitely, an improvement for cutting wood, even more since the blade is located on the left side.
Overall, the blade cutting is strong, clean, and consistent. And I don’t feel limited to using the 18T, the Black + Decker BDCD220CS allows me to change blades easily to a 32 to 36T carbide blade for more precise and rugged results.
Battery Life / Durability
The battery on the Black + Decker circular saw has one of the strongest batteries I’ve come across. It holds its high charge for up to 18 months without letting up.
The lithium-ion battery prevents premature wear and tear. It charges up fast and efficiently. So there are no complaints whatsoever.
One thing that I will say, however, is to keep an extra battery handy. This is the number-one tip I recommend to beginners, always have an extra battery. A spare battery is to save you during intense and demanding projects.
Having said that, since this is a lightweight and compact battery, it’s best to buy a more power-packed battery. You can swap batteries when you require more power. Coupled with the accurate cutting capacity of the blade, a robust battery will do wonders. It’s more promising for extended use.
But overall, I expect that the included battery and blade setup of the cordless circular saw will work perfectly well together. The battery charger is of good quality as well and works efficiently and durably.
Additional Features / Dependable Ergonomics
The Black + Decker features multiple ergonomically designed features that make it user-friendly. Starting with the LED work light that is bright and steady. Coupled with the compact design, it’s easy to handle for occasional jobs and sturdy for more demanding, daily work!
Be it for construction or DIY projects, ease of use is everything to someone using the cordless circular saw. So the molded grip, lever adjustments, and quick-release knob make this easier. So there’ll be no hand fatigue after long working sessions.
Another thing that reduces user fatigue is the less-than-5-pounds weight. Even with the battery installed, the Black + Decker is lightweight and dependable to use. It has all the right features in place for non-commercial and commercial work.
The combo kit includes a sturdy zippered bag to store everything in. Otherwise, it would have been a real drag to “drag” all these exceptional tools around since it’s an all-in-one kind of deal for a construction worker or a DIY enthusiast.
